Italy will be looking to end the Euro 2008 qualifiers top of their group table with a convincing victory over Faroe Islands when the two teams meet on Wednesday.

The Azzuri snatched a dramatic victory against Scotland on Saturday with Christian Panucci heading home the winner deep in injury time to send Italy to next year's Euro 2008 finals. Roberto Donadoni started the match in a confident fashion, going into the lead in the second minute through Luca Toni.

However Scotland fought back hard and equalized in the second half through Barry Ferguson and looked to be on the verge of pulling off an upset before Panucci ended any hopes of qualification. Now Donadoni will be keen to maintain their form and end the campaign by winning the group.

The Italians will not find the going tough against a poor Faroe Islands team who have scored just 3 goals in the whole campaign and conceded 40. Jógvan Martin Olsen's side are yet to open their account in the campaign, losing all of their 11 matches played so far and are overwhelming favorites to go home empty handed in this campaign.

Italy had narrowly won against Faroe Islands last time the two teams met in the campaign in June and Donadoni will be looking for a better performance this time around.

Italy top Group B with 26 points from 11 games, while Faroe Islands have bottomed out with no points from 11 games.
