The Italian giants are in pole position to retain their league title and have also progressed to the Champions League final for the first time in nearly four decades by beating Barcelona last weekend. Meanwhile AS Roma coach Claudio Ranieri will be hoping to thwart Inter from winning both the TIM Cup and the league title with the Giallorossi just two points behind the league leaders. A victory for Roma on Wednesday will see them become the most successful side to play in the TIM Cup with the Giallorossi winning nine trophies so far, same number as Juventus.

Davide Santon and Francesco Toldo are certain to miss out the tie with injuries while Goran Pandev is a major doubt for the Nerazzurri. Roma on the other hand have no major injury concerns with Mirko Vucinic, Marco Cassetti and John Arne Riise all recovering from their injuries to play against Parma on Saturday.
