The Italian champions are three points clear at the top of their group table and will finish the group stage at the top spot by collecting another three points from their next two matches. Inter secured a comfortable 2-0 victory in Greece in their opening group stage match with Mancini and Adriano scoring a goal each in either half.

Inter go into the game on Wednesday following a disappointing 3-3 draw against Anorthosis in their last match. The Cypriot twice equalized in the first half after Mario Balotelli and Marco Materazzi had put Inter in the lead. Anorthosis then took a shock lead in the second half through Frousos before Julio Cruz scored the equalizer with just 10 minutes to spare.

 

 

Meanwhile Panathinaikos will have to beat Inter on Wednesday if they are to have any hopes of qualifying out of the group. A defeat for Panathinaikos coupled with a victory for Anorthosis will see the Greek club miss out on a place in the knockout stage.

Panathinaikos' hopes of qualifying to the knockout stage received a big boost in their last match when they secured a comfortable 3-0 victory over German side Werder Bremen. After quiet first half, Vangelis Mantzios put the Greek side in the lead with a goal in the 58th minute.

 

 

Giorgos Karagounis scored his first Champions League goal in more than 6 years to double Panathinaikos' lead in the 70th minute before an own goal by Petri Pasanen completed the rout for the visitors.
