The Nerazzurri stormed back to the top of the Serie A table thanks to a 2-1 win over Catania last week. Goals from Sulley Muntari and Wesley Sneijder put Inter on top early on in the game and although Giuseppe Mascara scored from a penalty in the 84th minute, Inter managed to hang on and clinch all three points.

The win sees them on top of the table with 22 points from 9 games; two more than Sampdoria. Manager Jose Mourinho will hope his side can maintain this new found momentum and also that they are able to carry the same into Europe as well.

Thiago Motta, Diego Milito and Esteban Cambiasso are out with injury, but Walter Samuel, who was rested for the Catania game is expected to be back for this one. Samuel Eto'o is back after recovering from a foot injury.

Meanwhile Palermo have broken into the top 4 for the first time this season after their 1-0 win over Udinese last week. A late goal from Cesare Bovo on 87 minutes gave Palermo their third successive win and enabled them to climb to the fourth spot on the table with 15 points from 9 games played so far.

Manager Walter Zenga has a full squad to choose from barring striker Levan Mchedlidze, who will need to pass a late fitness test in order to feature in this one.
