Jose Mourinho’s Inter Milan team sit proudly atop the Serie A table at the moment and come from a 2-0 away win in Sicily against Palermo last weekend. Two superb goals by Swedish striker Ibrahimovic in the second half of the contest sealed the points for Inter, maintaining the one point gap that separates them at the top from second placed AC Milan. The spate of injuries and suspensions afflicting the team at the moment, do not appear to be making any difference to the results and last Sunday’s win was the third in a row for the Milan team.

 

 

They are also unbeaten in seven games in the league while their home form has been impressive; played five, won four and drawn one – a statistic that will please Portuguese boss Jose Mourinho no end.

Juventus go to Milan on the back of an impressive 4-1 home win against Genoa last Thursday evening. The game was moved forward to accommodate the Italian rugby union team’s weekend game against Argentina that was also held in Turin. Thursday’s win meant that Juventus moved up to third position in the league and the pressure is now well and truly lifted from boss Claudio Ranieri. At one stage this season he looked a certainty for the chop, but the way his team have responded in the last couple of months has been impressive.

 

 

They are unbeaten in five league games and in fact, have won all five. They have won their last two games on the road against Chievo and Bologna and will be heading to Milan to secure a win and nothing else.
