The defending champions have won just two of their last nine matches to allow both AS Roma and arch rivals AC Milan back in the title race with just seven games remaining in the season. Inter suffered a disappointing 2-1 defeat to Roma last weekend with Luca Toni scoring the winner 18 minutes from the final whistle.

With his side yet to face Juventus, Fiorentina and Lazio in the remaining seven games, coach Jose Mourinho will be aware that his side will have to put up vastly improved performances if they are to have any chance of winning a fifth successive league title.

Meanwhile Bologna coach Franco Colomba will be optimistic that his side can take advantage of Inter’s poor run of form and register their first points in four games.  The Rossoblu have lost their last three games and find themselves seven points off the drop zone with just seven games till the end of the season.
