The Nerazzurri opened their post winter break campaign with a hard fought 1-0 win over Chievo Veron in the midweek. Mario Balotelli scored the only goal of the match early in the first half but all the eyes were on new signing Goran Pandev and the former Lazio striker did not disappoint and put in a good performance on his debut.

Patrice Vieira made a rare start for Inter this season but immediately after the match coach Jose Mourinho revealed that the French midfielder has played his last game for the game and will be moving on to a new club in the next few days.

Jose Mourinho also revealed that Cristian Chivu was in the hospital after fracturing his skull in the game against Chievo and the fullback is expected to remain on the sidelines for the next few weeks in order to fully recover from his injury.

The injury comes as a big blow for Inter with the club not having a natural fullback with the club as Davide Santon is also out injured.

Inter should not have any problems in dispatching a disappointing Siena side that is struggling for survival in the league. The Robur suffered a heavy 5-1 defeat against arch rivals Fiorentina in the midweek and sit firmly at the bottom of the league table and five points away from safety.

Luca Rossettini and Francesco Parravicini are out of action due to injuries while Abdelkader Ghezzal is unavailable due to his international commitments with Algeria. However Siena will be boosted by the return of Claudio Terzi who missed the game against Fiorentina due to a suspension.
