The Nerazzurri struggled to retain possession in their Champions League tie against Barcelona in the midweek and the Italian champions suffered a deserved 2-0 defeat to the Catalan giants. However Inter have a very good recent record in the Serie A and have won six of their last seven matches including a 3-1 win away to Bologna last weekend.

Diego Milito, Mario Balotelli and Esteban Cambiasso were on target for Mourinho’s side as they completely dominated a listless Bologna side whose only goal of the match was scored by Marcelo Zalayeta midway through the first half.

Davide Santon remains the only injury concern for the Italian champions with Dutch playmaker Wesley Sneijder recovering from his ankle injury and is expected to start against Fiorentina this weekend.

Meanwhile Fiorentina will be looking to celebrate their progress into the Champions League knockout stage by securing a vital victory over Inter that could see them break into the top four of the league table.

The Viola confirmed their progress to the knockout stage with a 1-0 win over Lyon but coach Cesare Prandelli will be hoping that his side can bounce back from their disappointing 3-2 defeat to Parma last weekend and get their Champions League challenge back on track.
