The defending champions have not played a league game since beaten AC Milan two weeks ago with their Serie A match against Parma postponed due to heavy snow. However the missed game did not prove to be too costly with AC Milan dropping two points last weekend to leave Inter eight points clear at the top of the table.

Manager Jose Mourinho will be expecting nothing less than a victory against Cagliari but will be aware that his side will have to be at its best in order to collect all three points against the in-form side.

 Massimiliano Allegri’s side are unbeaten in their last six game, a run of form that has seen the climb to eighth in the table. The Rossoblu suffered a narrow 2-1 defeat to Inter early in the season with Alberto Milito scoring a brace in the second half after Neves Jeda had put Cagliari in the lead.
