The rest of Serie A will be hoping the newly crowned World Club Champions, AC Milan, can put the brakes on their City rivals title charge in this highly anticipated Milan derby.

Inter currently lead the chasing pack by seven points after registering 12 wins out of 16 matches and are still yet to be defeated. AC Milan on the other hand have so far endured a stuttering league campaign with each good performance dampened by yet another head scratcher the following week, invariably in the San Siro where they have quite unbelievably not won this season.

Carlo Ancelotti will no doubt look to the recently named FIFA World Player of the Year, Kaka, to give the Rossoneri the impetus to halt Inter in their tracks. Ronaldo is still unavailable so selection could come down to a straight choice between Pippo Inzaghi and Alberto Gilardino for the sole strikers role. Massimo Oddo may get the nod over the experienced Brazilian Cafu at right back.

Inter Milan coach Roberto Mancini will have to decide between a return to the 4-4-2 formation or stick with the 4-3-3 that gained them victory in Cagliari last week. There will be the return of Zlatan Ibrahimovic to account for, while Julio Cruz must remain in the side following his scintillating form in recent weeks.

Inter have a number of injuries so Christian Chivu will once again be called upon to operate in a midfield role.

We are into December and AC Milan have not won a home match in Serie A, irony would suggest they gain their first win in a game that is officially an away fixture. Stranger things have surely happened.
