Hungary welcome Greece to the Ferenc Puskás stadium in Budapest knowing that a win will take them over Moldova on the Group C Euro 2008 qualifying table. Hungary lost to Moldova 3-0 on November 17 allowing the latter to take the fifth spot on the table.

Goals from Igor Bugaev and Nicolae Josan and substitute Serghei Alexeev sealed a fine win for Moldova. This win was a fine way to end their Euro 2008 qualifying campaign. Hungary coach Péter Várhidi will hope his team can salvage something out of their failed Euro 2008 qualifying campaign.

He has named a strong squad although he might release some players ahead of the Greece game. Midfielder Ákos Buzsáky is back in the squad and Tamás Hajnal who scored a winner against Poland in a friendly clash also finds his name in the squad.

Greece can afford to take it easy when they clash with Hungary because they have already booked a ticket to Austria and Switzerland for the Euro 2008 finals next year. Greece ensured they would top Group C with a crushing 5-0 win over Malta on November 17.

Theofanis Gekas scored a hat-trick in that game, while the other two goals were scored by Angelos Basinas and Ioannis Amanatidis. The win was academic as Greece had already qualified.

Greece coach Otto Rehhagel has named Panathinaikos FC striker Evangelos Mantzios in his squad, who returns after having last appeared in the 1-0 defeat by Korea in February. Olympiacos CFP defender Paraskevas Antzas is battling a thigh injury, while FC Nürnberg striker Angelos Charistea is out with ankle problems.
