With Brown's future at the club hanging by a thread, Hull produced their best football yet this season as they bounced back from a goal down to beat Stoke 2-1. Matthew Etherington put Stoke in the lead midway through the first half but Hull fought back to equalize through Seyi Olofinjana before Jan Vennegoor slotted home the winner late in injury time.

Brown will also be delighted with the return of Jimmy Bullard who finally managed to play a full game for Hull. The former Fulham midfielder had played just 69 minutes of football since moving to the KC Stadium but has returned to full fitness and will be looking to improve Hull's on field performances.

West Ham on the other hand will be going all out for a victory this weekend as they look to overcome a disappointing start to the season. The Hammers looked to have turned their form around with an excellent performance in their 2-1 win over Aston Villa but suffered a sixth defeat of the season against Everton to drop into the relegation zone.

Goals from Louis Saha and Dan Gosling saw Everton take a 2-0 lead midway through the second half and though West Ham managed to reduce the deficit thanks to an own goal from Tony Hibbert, they were unable to secure the equalizer before the full time whistle.
