The Tigers are currently 18th in the league table, three points away from safety though they have a game in hand over their immediate rivals. With just four games remaining in the season, coach Ian Dowie will be aware that his side will have to put up a vastly improved performance if they are to overcome the deficit and secure their safety for another season.

Meanwhile Sunderland will be looking to complete the double over Hull and maintain their push for a place inside the top half of the table. The Black Cats are 13th in the league table, just two points behind Fulham who have a game in hand.
