Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson will be praying that his injury crisis will improve by this weekend when his side visits Hull City in their next Premier League match on Sunday. The defending champions have been forced to field midfielders in the centre of the defense with all of the first and second choice defenders out of action due to injuries. Nemanja Vidic, Rafael and Gary Neville could make a return to the squad though Rio Ferdinand, Wes Brown, Jonny Evans and John O’Shea are out of action for at least another two weeks.

The injury crisis proved to be United’s undoing last weekend as they suffered a heavy 3-0 defeat to Fulham. However the defeat did not prove to be very costly for United’s title challenge with Chelsea managing only a draw against West Ham on Sunday. United are favorites to collect all three points this weekend with the defending champions winning the last five meetings between the two sides including a 1-0 victory in this fixture last season.

Meanwhile Hull City will be looking to snap out of a poor run of form that has seen the club collect just two points from their last four games. After a brief return to form, the Tigers are going through a lean patch yet again and have lost two of their last four games including a 3-0 defeat to Arsenal last weekend. Manager Phil Brown will be hoping that his side can cope without Jimmy Bullard with the midfielder not scheduled to return for at least another month.
