Reynaldo Rueda's side are favorites to qualify to the quarter finals from an easy group with Haiti and Grenada making up the numbers apart from the United States. Honduras has an excellent record against Haiti, winning eight of the 11 meetings between the two teams and will be confident of a ninth victory on Saturday.

 

 

Los Catrachos have had a fairly mixed record in the tournament, lifting the trophy just once back in 1982 and have progressed to the semi finals just once in 18 years. The 2007 edition saw Honduras suffer a shock defeat in the quarter finals against Guadeloupe and fans will be expecting a better performance from their side this time around.

Haiti on the other hand will be hoping to cause an upset on Saturday and gain vital three points that could see them move into the pole position to qualify to the quarter finals for the second time in the tournament's history. The Les Grenadiers had not qualified for this year's tournament but with Cuba withdrawing from the live Gold Cup citing their inability to field a competitive team, Haiti and Trinidad and Tobago were placed in a draw with Haiti being picked as a replacement for Cuba.

 

 

Haiti were dumped out of the tournament in the first round itself in 2007 and though his side are favorites to once again bow out at the same stage, coach Jairo Rios will be hoping that his side can pull out some shock results in the course of the tournament.
