La Roja came very close to finishing their qualification campaign at the top of the table but a defeat to Brazil proved to be costly and Marcelo Bielsa’s side finished just one point behind the table toppers.

Bielsa will be hoping for a memorable World Cup with Chile making its first appearance in the tournament in 12 years after failing to qualify for the 2002 and 2006 tournaments.
