Holland and Japan will meet for the second time in less than a year when they lock horns against each other at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on Saturday. The two sides met in September last year in the Dutch city of Enschede. The hosts were kept at bay by the Japanese for most of the first half and did not help their own cause by making several silly mistakes. It took the introduction of Eljero Elia for the Dutch fortunes to change. Arsenal’s Robin van Persie netted the opener on 69 minutes. Wesley Sneijder and Klaas Jan Huntelaar also added their names to the score sheet as the Dutch emerged comfortable winners at the end.

Japanese player Keisuke Honda, who was a substitute in that friendly, plied his trade for VVV Venlo in the Netherlands before moving to Russian club CSKA Moscow. This is Japan’s second game of the World Cup- they played Cameroon in Bloemfontein on Monday.
