Hibernian on their part will look to ensure a top six finish at the end of the season. With just a handful of games remaining, it does not appear that the club can challenge for a European spot next season. However manager Mixu Paatelainen will want to finish as high up the table as possible.

This bid was hampered last week, when the Hibs were held to a 1-1 draw by relegation threatened St Mirren. Saints midfielder Andy Dorman had given them the lead within 28 minutes, but Steven Fletcher scored for the 50th time for Hibernian to ensure his side came away with one point.

Hibernian are placed sixth on the table with 42 points from 32 games.

Rangers are just one point behind Celtic having collected 70 points from their 32 games. the Gers have worked hard to narrow the gap from nine points to just one point and look to be realistic title challengers at the fag end of the season.

Last week, they beat Motherwell 3-1 thanks to a brace from Kris Boyd and another goal from Andrius Velicka. Motherwell's goal was scored by John Sutton.

Manager Walter Smith still has major injury worries with Kyle Lafferty, Kenny Miller , Kirk Broadfoot, Lee McCulloch and Kevin Thomson all sidelined through various niggles. With the last Old Firm game coming up in May, Smith will hope to have a fit squad as it appears that game could decide the title race.
