Hearts v St Mirren Live
Hearts have slipped dangerously close to the lower half of the table thanks to a few dismal Scottish Premier League results in the last few weeks. The latest blow came when they were beaten 2-3 at the Tynecastle Stadium by Inverness CT.
Goals from Russell Duncan, John Rankin and Graham Bayne nullified the efforts of Christophe Berra and Andrius Velicka, who scored via a penalty. Hearts woes were compounded when keeper Eduardas Kurskis was sent off in the 87th minute.
The loss has Hearts sweating it out on the 9th spot in the SPL table. Some decent Christmas results are a must if the Jambos are to climb up the table and revive their season. Hearts can take solace from the fact that Neil McCann is back into training for the first time since he broke his leg in late August. But Pinilla continues to be out with a strained hamstring. An additional worry for Hearts is that striker Michal Pospisil could quit in the January transfer window.
Hearts are struggling with 20 points from 18 games. Velicka is the top goal scorer for the team with 7 goals thus far.
St Mirren on the other hand have also had a disappointing SPL season so far. In their last clash at Love Street, they drew 0-0 against Kilmarnock to stay put on the 11th spot in the SPL table with just 16 points from 17 games.
St Mirren manager Gus MacPherson is hoping that Craig Dargo can start scoring goals for his team and pull them away from the relegation zone.
