Manager Alex Ferguson will be happy with the pre-season tour so far with his players getting a good workout apart from the club enjoying the financial benefits of the tour. United have been made to work for the wins in their first two matches with Malaysia XI proving to be tough opponents in the opening two matches and FC Seoul coming close to holding the English champions to a draw.

United twice went behind as the hosts first went 1-0 up and then 2-1 ahead thanks to goals from Dejan Damjanovic. However goals from Wayne Rooney and Federico Macheda meant that United were in contention for a third straight win and the Red Devils finally got the deserved victory with Dimitar Berbatov scoring his first goal on the tour late in the second half.

 

 

Ferguson expressed his satisfaction with his strikers' form on this tour with Rooney, Macheda and Michael Owen scoring two goals each while Berbatov has managed to net one. The United manager was also pleased with Macheda's performances adding that the Italian could play a key role for the team this season.

Following their match against Hangzhou Greentown, United head off to Munich where they take on Boca Juniors, Bayern Munich and AC Milan in the Audi Cup before ending their pre-season with a home tie against Valencia on August 5.
