Haiti will be looking to bounce back from their narrow defeat against Honduras with a comfortable victory over Grenada and keep their hopes alive of qualifying to the quarter finals of the CONCACAF Gold Cup on Wednesday. The Les Grenadiers defied the pre match odds and managed to match their much superior opponents for most of the game. However just when it looked as if Jairo Rios' side would come away with a well earned point, Carlos Costly slammed home the winner 14 minutes from the final whistle to give Honduras a vital win.

While Haiti are expected to secure a comfortable win against debutants Grenada, coach Rios will be aware that his side's hopes of qualifying to the quarter finals will depend on their final group game against United States on Saturday.

Playing their first ever CONCACAF Gold Cup match, Grenada failed to put up any sort of resistance against a strong United States side that took an early lead through Freddy Adu in the 7th minute. Stuart Holden doubled the lead before half time and goals from Robbie Rogers and Charlie Davis helped the Yanks to a thumping victory in the end.

Grenada coach Tommy Taylor admitted that his side was second best throughout the game and their opponents completely deserved their thumping victory. However he expressed confidence that his players will put up a better showing in the next two matches and will hopefully upset the odds by qualifying to the next stage starting with a win over Haiti on Wednesday.
