Grenoble had a horrible start to the new Ligue 1 season, losing all of their first eleven fixtures. They picked up a very welcome, but completely unexpected point against AS Monaco a fortnight ago at Stade Louis II.

Grenoble keeper Ronan Le Crom denied Frederic Nimani thrice in the second half. GF38’s best chances of the game went to Jimmy Juan and Laurent Battles. David Jemmali missed the game against Monaco due to suspension, but the Tunisian defender is available for selection against OL. Grenoble have the worst attack at home, scoring only four times in six games. They also have a poor defensive record- fifteen goals in six games at home is not a record to be spoken about with pride.

Lyon and Marseille were involved in a ten goal thriller a fortnight ago. OL took an early lead through Miralem Pjanic, but Souleymane Diawara equalised for Marseille eight minutes later. Winger Sidney Govou restored Lyon’s lead on fourteen minutes, but Benoit Cheyrou brought Marseille back on level terms just before half time.

Goals from Bakari Kone and Brandao saw Marseille take a 4-2 lead, but Lyon produced an amazing comeback to take a 5-4 lead. Two of those goals came from the boot of Lisandro Lopez, with Michel Bastos scoring the other. But OL’s celebrations were cut short when Jeremy Toulalan scored an own goal in the dying seconds of the game, allowing Marseille to escape with a point.
