Three wins from their last four games, including a 1-0 win over England, saw Ukraine topple Croatia from the second place in their group table to bag the play-offs spot. Coach Oleksiy Mykhaylychenko expressed his delight at Ukraine progressing to the play-offs and is confident that his side will be able to negotiate the challenge posed by Greece and qualify for second successive World Cup finals.

Mykhaylychenko has dropped Liverpool striker Andriy Voronin from the squad to face Greece. The 30-year old has featured intermittently for the English club and is not fully fit for the two legs to be played this week. Andriy Shevchenko and Artem Milevskiy have been called up for the games along with Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk pair Volodymyr Homenyuk and Evgen Seleznev. who have impressed the Ukraine coach.

Meanwhile Greece will be hoping to secure a comfortable victory in the first leg as they look to qualify for only their second World Cup finals. The Euro 2004 champions narrowly missed out on an automatic berth by just one point to Switzerland and coach Otto Rehhagel will be hoping to brush that disappointment away by drawing first blood on Saturday.

Olympiacos forward Kostas Mitroglou could make his debut for Greece after being called up by Rehhagel who will be missing a number of key players including Giorgos Seitaridis, Christos Patsatzoglou and Ioannis Amanatidis who are all out injured.
