Greece were expected to breeze through their opener against Sweden. Instead Otto Rehhagel's men were in for a rude awakening as Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Petter Hansson scored second half goals to put the game beyond the Greeks.

The loss means they need to win this one else they will catch an early flight home. Greece have struck to the defensive strategy that gave them European glory four years ago. However Rehhagel must now consider some drastic moves to keep his side alive in this tournament.

Russia are also on the verge of an early exit as they crashed to a 4-1 defeat to Spain in their opener. A hat-trick from David Villa and another goal from Cesc Fabregas left coach Guus Hiddink with plenty to ponder ahead of his side's second game.

Guus Hiddink is already handicapped by the absence of Pavel Pogrebnyak, who withdrew with a knee injury. Without him, the Russian strike force wears a thin look and although Roman Pavlyuchenko grabbed a consolation against Spain, there is still a long way to go.
