The Black Stars made it to the last four after beating hosts Angola 1-0 thanks to a lone goal from Asamoah Gyan. The goal, which came in the 16th minute, proved to be enough for a depleted Ghana side to advance to the semifinals at the expense of Angola.

Coach Milovan Rajevac will hope his side can make it to the finals of the AFCON for the first time in 18 years. However Michael Essien continues to miss out although Anthony Annan has been passed fit to play.

Meanwhile Nigeria advanced to the semifinals thanks to a 5-4 win after penalties over Zambia. The full-time as well as extra-time ended 0-0, but the Super Eagles progressed after goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama saved one penalty and scored another to go through.

Manager Shaibu Amodo will hope his side can give a good fight to Ghana. He will miss skipper Joseph Yobo for this game due to a hamstring injury, which has ruled him out of the tournament.
