Almost a week after playing their opening fixtures in Group D, Ghana and Australia will resume their World Cup campaign when they meet in Rustenburg on Saturday. Catch Ghana vs Australia live by signing up with the Live Sport Network.

The two teams met in an international friendly nearly two years ago in Sydney. Australia won that game 1-0 thanks to an early second half goal from midfielder Mile Sterjovski. The Perth Glory star took advantage of a rare lapse of concentration from John Mensah and fired home from just outside the area.

Ghana and Australia also played each other at Loftus Road in November 2006. The Socceroos took the lead on that occasion through striker John Aloisi, who scored from the spot after Ghana’s Francis Dickoh was penalised for a foul in the box. The Black Stars equalised through Junior Agogo, who capitalised on a mistake from Aussie keeper Mark Schwarzer to level the scores. Australia had their chances in the last ten minutes, but were not able to come up with a winner.
