Ghana v Guinea Live
You can catch all the action in the 26th African Cup of Nations live on free-football.tv, the internet's preferred stop for all live football feeds. Hosts Ghana kick off the 26th edition of the African Nations Cup when they take on Guinea in the first match on January 20 at the Ohene Djan Stadium in Accra.
The Black Stars are in a relatively easy Group A that also has Namibia and Morocco competing for a place in the quarterfinals. Ghana have had a wonderful last few years as far as football is concerned. They qualified for their first ever World Cup in the 2006 edition in Germany and acquitted themselves honorably beating the Czech Republic and the United States. They were unlucky to lose to Brazil in the second round.
Chelsea star Michael Essien will be the man to watch out for, but Ghana will sorely miss the presence of Captain Stephen Appiah, who has not recovered in time from a knee injury. Appiah was inspirational in the world cup and the hosts are sure to miss his cool head in the ANC.
Coach Claude Le Roy has included a balanced midfield in his squad, but the pressure on Laryea Kinston, John Mensah and Portsmouth midfielder Suley Muntari will be really high. The man to watch out for in the Ghana line-up is undoubtedly striker Kwadwo Asamoah, who is touted as the next big thing to come out from African soccer.
Guinea on the other hand have fared wonderfully well in their warm-up games as they head to live African Cup of Nations. They trashed Sudan 6-0 in their warm-up game with Souleymane Youla scoring four goals and Ismael Bangoura and Victor Correa netting in the other two.
However Guinea coach Robert Nouzaret was forced to change his squad at the last minute as defender Kevin Constant was denied permission to fly to Ghana by FIFA. Mamadou Dioulde Bah replaces him in the team.
