Getafe were unlucky to concede a late goal in the first leg of their UEFA Cup round of 32 match against AEK Athens. Rubén de la Red had grabbed a late goal in the 86th minute to trigger hope that Getafe would be able to win the game in an outright manner.

However Ismael Blanco equalized for the Greek side in the 93rd minute of the game. Still Getafe are able to take a valuable away goal and will be confident of progressing as they welcome AEK to the Coliseum Alfonso Perez this Thursday. Getafe coach Michael Laudrup will be hoping his side can affect an outright win and gain an entry into the round of 16.

Jaime Gavilán who was involved in a horrific accident with Rodolfo Arruabarrena will not feature in the second leg. The midfielder spent the night in a hospital and will not take part in any competition for at least two weeks as a precautionary measure.

AEK Athens are still without a coach after they fired coach Lorenzo Serra Ferrer one day before their Getafe clash last week. Nikolaos Kostenoglou is the caretaker boss at the moment.
