Germany coach Joachim Low will be looking to gain early advantage over Russia when the two teams meet in their World Cup qualifying clash on Saturday. Watch all the live international soccer here on Live Sport Network.

 

 

Both Russia and Germany are expected to qualify for the World Cup finals from this group and Low will be hoping that his side can move into a strong position with a victory over Russia. Low will be expecting a better performance from his side after they were held to a 3-3 draw by Finland in their last match.

Captain Michael Ballack has been recalled to the national squad after missing the last two matches with a foot injury. Torsten Frings, Per Mertesacker and Arne Friedrich all find a place in the 22-man squad with Low opting for experience for the home matches against Russia and Wales. Christoph Metzelder is the surprise omission from the squad but Low explained that the Real Madrid defender is an integral part of his plans but was not considered due to lack of match practice.

 

 

Meanwhile Russia coach Guus Hiddink has called up three new players for the matches against Germany and Finland. Alan Dzagoyev, Igor Denisov and Alexander Prudnikov all managed to impress Hiddink who will be without defender Denis Kolodin due to an ankle injury.

Igor Denisov had been earlier called up to Russia's Euro 2008 provisional squad but controversially turned down the call up. Hiddink assured the Zenit St Petersburg midfielder that he will be picked for future games after the 24-year old later apologized for his actions. Russia have played just one match in their qualifying campaign, registering a narrow 2-1 victory at home against Wales thanks to goals from Roman Pavluchenko and Pavel Pogrebniak.
