Germany had secured a thumping 6-0 win when the two teams last met back in September with Lukas Podolski scoring a brace while Simon Rolfes, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Thomas Hitzlsperger and Heiko Westermann were also on target.

Having had a successful outing in the last two matches with victories against Russia and Wales, Germany coach Joachim Low will be hoping that his side will be able to keep up the good form and secure another comfortable victory on Saturday to consolidate their position at the top of the group table.

 

 

Podolski has been recalled to the squad after missing out Germany's friendly against Norway with an injury. The Bayern Munich striker is expected to start the game on Saturday and against Wales three days later with Miroslav Klose ruled out of contention with an ankle injury.

Keeper Rene Adler and midfielder Piotr Trochowski face a late fitness battle after suffering minor injuries in their league encounters on Saturday with Low already without Torsten Frings and Arne Friedrich.

 

 

Meanwhile Liechtenstein will be hoping to finally register their first goal of the qualifying campaign though coach Hans-Peter Zaugg will be happy if his side manages to avoid yet another humiliating defeat against Germany. Liechtenstein are currently sitting at the bottom of the group table with one point from three games after holding out for a 0-0 draw against Azerbaijan but are yet to score a goal and have conceded eight goals so far.
