The Germans were left ruing a host of missed chances after they were held to a 0-0 draw by Spain in their opening encounter. Germany will need to win this one if they are to have any hopes of progressing through to the semi-finals of the tournament.

Striker Mesut Ozil was the main culprit missing a golden chance to put Germany ahead in the final minutes of the game. With the tournament format being a single round of group encounters, German coach Horst Hrubesch will hope his players can step up and guide the team to the next stage of the competition.

Meanwhile Finland will also be looking for a big win to stay alive in the competition. The Finns went down 2-1 to England in the opening game of the competition and will need all the points on offer here.

Lee Cattermole had put England ahead after just 15 minutes, but Finland equalized through a penalty from Tim Sparv on 33 minutes. The penalty arose after Michael Mancienne felled Berat Sadik in the area. The former was handed a straight red card, but Finland could not take advantage of the same.

Micah Richards drilled in a second-half winner on 53 minutes to give England a perfect start in the tournament. Finland coach Markku Kanerva may have to shuffle his midfield in this game as they looked decidedly listless against England.
