Georgia take on the Republic of Ireland in their first World Cup 2010 qualifier to be played at the Stadion am Bruchweg in Mainz, Germany. Watch all the international football live here on Live Sport Network.

With the ongoing conflict in Georgia, the Football Association of Ireland requested FIFA to move the qualifier to a neutral venue. Mainz was chosen as the venue by the Georgian Football Federation (GFF) .

Republic manager Giovanni Trapattoni is dealing with a couple of injury scares ahead of this clash. Damien Duff is out with an injury, while Kevin Kilbane has been passed fit after suffering a facial injury in his club match over the weekend.

Kilbane underwent an operation on his fractured cheekbone on Sunday. He was injured in Wigan's 5-0 win over Hull City. Kilbane may wear a protective mask ahead of the game.

Meanwhile Richard Dunne missed Republic's training session with a throat infection, but should be fit to play on Saturday. The Republic of Ireland remain unbeaten under Trapattoni's reign so far, but the World Cup qualifiers will test the Italian manager's mettle.

He has already convinced Steve Finnan to come out of retirement, but was unable to persuade Andy O’Brien. With Finnan, the Irish defense does look formidable, but the midfield looks thin in the absence of Duff.

Republic play Montenegro four days after this game, while Georgia take on Macedonia.
