Czech striker Milan Baros and Brazilian midfielder Elano were the goal scorers for Galatasaray in their 3-1 win over Panathinaikos in Athens. Baros’ fifth minute cross resulted in Elano putting Gala ahead. Shortly after half time, the two swapped roles as Elano’s pass picked out Baros, who cleanly skipped past Galinovic before slotting into an empty net.

Elano scored the third from a free kick, which unfortunately for the Greek side, took a deflection off their own player. Gala’s winning run in the league was stopped by Eskisehirspor on Sunday. Shabani Nonda scored for Gala in the 1-1 draw that saw the home side concede top spot to Fenerbahce.

Sturm Graz were beaten 1-0 by Dinamo Bucharest in their opening game. The margin of victory could easily have been higher had Christian Gratzei not produced a number of stunning saves to keep the visitors at bay.

Sturm Graz beat Kapfenberger SV 1-0 in their weekend Bundesliga game. Daniel Beichler scored the winner midway through the second half as Sturm Graz picked up their fifth win of the season. Sturm are four points behind leaders Red Bull Salzburg in the Bundesliga table.
