Fulham drew the first leg 0-0 at the Nordbank Arena a week ago. The Cottagers came into the game with the sole aim of a stalemate and got what they wanted despite long periods of domination from the home side.

The game against Fulham was the first time that Hamburg had failed to win at home in the knockout rounds of this season’s Europa League. Craven Cottage is not the easiest place to play in the Europa League, as Juventus and Wolfsburg have already experienced, but Hamburg have the additional incentive of playing the final on their own home ground.

Polish winger Piotr Trochowski is suspended for Hamburg. Chris Baird sits out for similar reasons for Fulham. Hamburg have six players who can potentially miss the final should they get booked on Thursday, while Fulham have only three-Zoltan Gera, Paul Konchesky and Bobby Zamora.
