Fulham will be in a confident mood when they welcome Wigan Athletic on Wednesday having snatched an unlikely draw at Fratton Park on Sunday. Watch all live soccer streams here on Live Sport Network.

 

 

Fulham were down and out in the game against Pompey. Peter Crouch had given the home side a lead in the 60th minute after being released by Jermain Defoe. However just when it was beginning to look like the Cottagers would sink to a fifth loss in a row, Clint Dempsey scored from close range to snatch a point.

Roy Hodgson's men also had goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer to thanks for keeping them in the game. Nadir Belhadj troubled Fulham no end and was unlucky to see his fierce shot hit the post. However Fulham clung on and were rewarded in the final minutes when Dempsey equalized.

 

 

The club appears to have squandered a bright start and is currently hovering just above the relegation zone, a position that Hodgson detests.

Meanwhile Wigan failed to recapture the form that saw them overcome Manchester City last weekend. They lost 0-4 to Aston Villa at home thanks to goals from Gareth Barry, Gabriel Agbonlahor, John Carew and Steve Sidwell.

 

 

Manager Steve Bruce was left fuming at what he called "schoolboy" errors from his defense. Bruce will hope for a better performance against Fulham that can lift Wigan out of the bottom half of the Premiership table.
