The Cottagers went down in a lame manner on Wednesday night to the defending champions who extended their lead at the top of the table. Goals from Paul Scholes, Dimitar Berbatov and Wayne Rooney completed the rout for United and rounded off a miserable week for Fulham.

The loss leaves the Cottagers on the 10th spot with 31 points from 24 games. Manager Roy Hodgson is livid with the FA over the scheduling and could probably be without Paul Konchesky and Andy Johnson for this game as both players are struggling with muscle injuries, while Dickson Etuhu continues to be sidelined with an ankle injury.

 

 

Meanwhile West Brom continue to flounder about as they attempt to stay alive in the Premiership. Tony Mowbray's men have displayed great dedication in what appears to be a losing cause, but two wins could change all that.

Last week, the Baggies were unluck to lose 2-3 to Newcastle United despite showing dogged determination. Goals from Damien Duff, Peter Lovenkrands and Steve Taylor nullified efforts from Marc Antoine-Fortune and consigned West Brom to another heart-breaking defeat.

 

 

The Baggies now have 22 points from 25 games and are in desperate need of some wins if they are to survive this season. Manager Tony Mowbray could be without Jay Simpson, who has a hamstring injury, while full-back Gianni Zuiverloon is back after serving a one-match ban for collecting five yellow cards this season.
