After a mixed start to the new season, Fulham have settled down and are slowly working their way up the league table. They are currently placed 10th with 21 points from 16 games. Manager Roy Hodgson will be delighted with their performances so far and will be especially heartened to see big signing Andy Johnson scoring regularly for the Cottagers.

However last week was a forgettable one as they continued to search for the elusive away win at Stoke and had to be satisfied with a 0-0 draw. Hodgson has a near full-strength squad for this encounter, but Diomansy Kamara and Andranik Teymourian remain long-term absentees with knee injuries. Hodgson may also have to prepare to be without England midfielder Jimmy Bullard after January as the 29-year-old has attracted interest from top clubs following his stunning form in recent games.

 

 

Meanwhile Middlesbrough will be on a high after holding Arsenal to a 1-1 draw last week. Emmanuel Adebayor's strike had put the Gunners ahead in the 17th minute, but former Arsenal striker Jeremie Aliadiere nullified that goal with a fine strike on 29 minutes.

Manager Gareth Southgate would have been happy to come away with one point from the Emirates Stadium. The draw sees Boro remain on the 12th spot with 20 points from 17 games.

 

 

Southgate though has injury worries ahead of this game after it emerged that defender Justin Hoyte will be sidelined for up to four weeks following an operation on knee cartilage. Tony McMahon, who was brilliant against Arsenal, is expected to take Hoyte's place in the starting line-up for this game.
