The Clarets secured their first points under new manager Brain Laws with a hard fought 2-1 win over West Ham on Saturday. David Nugent opened the scoring early in the first half before new signing Daniel Fox marked his debut for the club by doubling the lead 10 minutes into the second half.

The result sees Burnley put some distance between themselves and the drop zone and climb to 15th in the league table. Laws was delighted with the result and said that his side had to win the game if they were to have any hopes of pulling themselves out of the relegation dogfight.

Meanwhile Fulham boss Roy Hodgson will be disappointed with his side’s recent form that has seen the club collect just four points from last seven games. The Cottagers ended their four match losing streak with a narrow 1-0 win over Portsmouth a week ago but failed to get even one shot on target in a boring stalemate against Bolton Wanderers on Saturday.

With a place in Europe looking increasingly difficult, Hodgson will be hopeful to make use of Fulham’s home advantage and collect vital three points on Tuesday that will see them consolidate their place inside the top half of the table.
