France will be hoping to shrug off a disappointing start to their World Cup qualification with a comfortable victory when they take on Uruguay in a friendly game on Wednesday. Catch all the live soccer here on Live Sport Network.

 

 

France are currently third in their qualification group with just four points from their first three matches and are five points behind group leaders Serbia. Pressure has been steadily increasing on coach Raymond Domenech following a disappointing 2-2 draw against Romania in their last match.

Steve Savidan has been called up to the national squad for the first time in his career and the Caen striker will be hoping to leave a favorable impression on Domenech with the hope of becoming a regular for the national team.

 

 

Arsenal's Mikel Silvestre is another surprise inclusion to the national squad after missing out for a long time. Domenech revealed that the defender's move to Arsenal in the summer has helped him regain his form and added that Silvestre will provide the much needed experience in the centre of the defense.

However Florent Malouda continues to be overlooked by Domenech in spite of the winger showing good form for Chelsea. The France coach has not included a left winger in his squad though Samir Nasri or Karim Benzema are expected to start at the left flank.

 

 

Uruguay are going through a rough patch of their own and are currently fifth in their qualification table with 13 points from their first 10 matches. Uruguay avoided a humiliating defeat to Bolivia in their last match after going two goals down in the first half before Carlos Bueno and Sebastian Abreu pulled them back on level terms.
