Last World Cup's defeated finalists have had a disappointing qualification campaign so far and have only managed to win just four of their eight qualifying matches so far. While France are clear favorites to progress at least to the play offs, coach Raymond Domenech has come under heavy pressure on his side's performance during the campaign. France failed to beat either Romania or Serbia in their last two matches with both the games ending in a 1-1 draw. Les Bleus were fortunate to have managed to avoid defeat away to Serbia in their last game after the hosts had taken an early lead through Nenad Milijas only for Thierry Henry to equalize on the half hour mark.

Domenech will be without first choice keeper Hugo Lloris who faces a one match ban after being sent off during France's 1-1 draw against Serbia. Rennes goalkeeper Nicolas Douchez has been called up for the first time but is expected to remain on the fringes with Marseille keeper Steve Mandanda likely to replace Lloris between the posts. Karim Benzema has been picked up in the squad, while Yoann Gourcuff is out with a calf injury.

Meanwhile Faroe Islands have nothing to play for except pride when they take to the field on Saturday. Brian Kerr's side have no chance of qualifying to next year's World Cup following a disappointing qualifying campaign.

While his side are not expected to cause any upset this weekend, Kerr will be hoping to take heart in his side's good display during their narrow 1-0 loss to France earlier in the campaign and end their World Cup challenge with some good performances in their final two games.
