The Gers were beaten 1-0 by Aberdeen last week in a shock result thanks to a goal from Lee Miller. The loss continued Rangers' woeful record at the Pittodrie, which has seen them fail to register a win in their last nine visits.

The loss means Rangers are at the second place on the SPL table with 25 points from 12 games; two less than Celtic. However the Gers have a game in hand. Manager Walter Smith would have been dismayed at his side's dismal showing last week and will hope they can make amends this time around.

Steven Naismith is back after recovering from hamstring and calf injuries, while Maurice Edu and Kirk Broadfoot are back in training, but this game may be too soon for their return.

Meanwhile Falkirk continue to languish at the bottom of the table having managed to collect just 8 points from 13 games played so far. Last week Falkirk slipped to their seventh loss of the campaign when Hibernian beat them by a 2-0 margin thanks to a brace from Derek Riordan.

Falkirk manager Eddie May will hope he can motivate his side to play above their level in this game. However multiple injury worries have laid the club low with Sean Lynch, Mark Stewart, Jackie McNamara, Kjartan Finnbogason, Burton O`Brien and Tam Scobbie missing out with various niggles.

However Alex MacDonald is back after recovering from a groin injury, while the club hopes to be able to play new signing Toufik Zerara.
