Rangers travel to Falkirk Stadium to take on Falkirk in this weekend's Scottish Premier League clash knowing fully well that they might not overtake Celtic at the top of the table even if they win the game. Rangers concentrated on their UEFA Champions League campaign to a great extent and perhaps failed to take into account their domestic commitments.

However Walter Smith's team will be looking to wrap up a win at Falkirk and stay as close to Celtic as possible. The Ibrox team has also been hit with injuries to key players. Forward Nacho Novo is expected to be out for up to six weeks because of a dislocated his shoulder during a friendly with Middlesbrough.

Alan Gow is unavailable for the Falkirk game after he picked up a red card in a reserve game against Gretna. Additionally there are doubts over French striker Daniel Cousin's availability for the club this season as rumors have speculated he is to move in January. Stevie Smith has had a hernia operation and will be out for at least a month.

Boyd and Cousin are the top scorers for Rangers in the SPL with five goals each. The tam is second on the SPL table with 25 points from 12 games.

Meanwhile Falkirk moved away from the danger zone last time around when they won 2-0 against Gretna. The club also had good news in the form of striker Dayne Robertson signing a new contract with them till 2010.

Meanwhile Falkirk defender Chris Mitchell has joined Montrose on a five-week loan, manager John Hughes has confirmed saying the move was intended to improve his skills as a player.

Higdon, Barret and Moutinho have three goals each this season in the SPL as their team is placed 10th on the SPL table with 12 points from 12 games. Last season this fixture was clinched 1-0 by Falkirk.
