Everton will be fancying their chances of collecting all three points from their Premiership clash against Newcastle United when the two teams meet at Goodison Park on Sunday. Watch all the live Premiership action here on Live Sport Network.

Newcastle have lost their last four league matches and with confidence among the players at an all time low, fans will be delighted if their side manages to avoid yet another defeat against Everton on the weekend. Everton manager David Moyes though will be looking to notch up a convincing victory in front of the home crowd and hope that his players will build on the result to move up the league table.

 

 

The Toffees have struggled in their last two matches, barely avoiding defeat against Premiership new boys Hull City before being completely outplayed by Liverpool in the Merseyside derby last week. Fernando Torres scored a brace for Liverpool who would have won by a far more comfortable margin had their strikers managed to take the chances that came their way.

Everton currently sit 14th in the league table with 7 points from their first six matches and the Toffees are yet to collect a point at home in the three matches played so far. Everton had a good home record en route to their 5th place finish last season and with his side yet to show consistent form on their travels, Moyes will be aware that his side will have to start picking points at home if they are to have any hopes of finishing in the top six of the league for a third successive season.

 

 

Meanwhile Newcastle looked to have inched closer to a takeover with either the Nigerian or South African consortiums favorites to complete the deal by the month end. Media reports suggest that while both the parties are looking to re-install Kevin Keegan as the new manager after completing the takeover, the South African consortium is looking at offering the 57-year old manager a stake in the club that could tie him to the job for a foreseeable future.
