Everton vs Sunderland LiveSunderland will be searching for their first win in eight games when they take on Everton in their next Premiership clash on Saturday.
Just two points from last five matches have seen Sunderland sit perilously close to the drop zone with 10 points from 13 games, just two points ahead of Bolton who are in 18th position. Sunderland boss Roy Keane will be looking for a better performance from his defenders as their defense has leaked 9 goals in their last five games.
However Keane will be boosted by some good news on his long list of injured players. However defender Nyron Nosworthy is set for a long spell on the sidelines, with the 27-year old out of action for at least 6 weeks with a hamstring injury. Kieran Richardson, Dean Whitehead and Andrew Cole continue to be sidelined with injuries.
But with Carlos Edwards playing for he first time in over three months and with Dean Whitehead making an appearance in the testimonial match in Falkirk, Keane can hope that Sunderland can finally begin their push to climb up the Premier League table.
Meanwhile Everton will look to return back to winning ways on Saturday following the international break. David Moyes' side have won two of their last three matches and look to have overcome a poor patch of form that saw them slip down into the bottom half of the table.
For Everton Baines is out with an ankle injury and is expected to miss two weeks of action. The strike department is also weak following Andrew Johnson's surgery to repair a broken ankle.
The last time these two teams met was in the 2005-06 Premiership season when the fixture ended in a 2-2 draw.
