Everton effectively lost a chance of bypassing Liverpool for the fourth Champions League spot when they were beaten 1-0 by the Reds at Anfield last week. A solitary goal from Fernando Torres was enough to seal the ill-tempered match in Liverpool's favour. In their last game, Derby were held to a 2-2 draw by Fulham with Emanuel Villa grabbing a late equalizer to nullify Diomansy Kamara's goal as well as an own goal from Dean Leacock. The draw left Derby on 11 points still 4 points away from beating Sunderland's 15 points as the lowest achieved in the Premier League.
