The return of Arteta and Cahill from minor injuries was welcome news for Everton. However Van Der Meyde, Lee Osman, Baines, Stubbs and Turner continue to be sidelined. Everton are sixth in the Premiership table with 33 points from 19 games.

Arsenal will be keen to return to winning ways following their disappointing 0-0 draw at Fratton Park in their last premiership live clash. Pompey resolutely held on to deny Arsenal the points that would have put them on top of the table ahead of Manchester United.

The Gunners will now be keen to wipe away memories of that game and start scoring goals again. Manager Arsene Wenger would have been concerned with the way his team has returned mixed results in their last few games.

Ever since their loss to Middlesbrough, Arsenal have lost some zip as was evident in the Pompey clash. Nevertheless they are still second on the table with 43 points from 19 games. Robin Van Perise could return for the Everton clash following his recovery from a thigh strain.
