The Andalusian club, who look to have overcome a poor start to the season and with six wins in their last 10 matches, have risen to 7th in the league table with 33 points from 23 matches. Meanwhile Espanyol coach Ernesto Valverde will be pleased with the form shown by his side this season. The Periquitos are currently sitting fifth in the league with 39 points from 23 matches and are just three points behind third placed Villarreal.

With the club showing good form so far, fans will be hoping that their side will manage to at least qualify for Europe this season. However Valverde will be worried by the recent form show by his team.

Espanyol have lost four of their last five matches including a 2-1 defeat at home to Recreativo Huelva last weekend. A poor start to the match saw Espanyol concede to goals in space of eight minutes with Sinama-Pongolle being on target on both occasions. Ewerthon managed to pull one back for the hosts but Recreativo held on to claim vital three points against Espanyol.

Both the teams have already met this season with Espanyol emerging 3-2 victors at Ramón Sanchez Pizjuán and Valverde will be hopeful for a similar results this weekend.
