El Salvador will be hoping to bounce back from their disappointing defeat to Canada in their last match and secure a comfortable victory over Jamaica in their CONCACAF Gold Cup clash on Friday. The Cuscatlecos put up a good fight against Canada but were unable to repeat their heroics from the first match as a Ali Gerba goal in the 32nd minute helped the Canucks to all three points from the game.

Coach Carlos de los Cobos admitted that Canada deserved the victory but expressed confidence that his side will be able to qualify to the next round. The defeat means that El Salvador will have to better Costa Rica's result in the final group match with Costa Rica level on points thanks to a narrow 1-0 victory over Jamaica.

Jamaica on the other hand are all but out of the competition and need a big victory in their final group match and hope that Costa Rica lose to Canada if they are to have any hopes of making it to the next round.

It has been a disappointing campaign for the Reggae Boyz who have lost their opening two matches to Canada and Costa Rica and have failed to hit the back of the net. Coach Theodore Whitmore admitted that his side has a tall task at hand if they are to qualify for the next round.

Rudolph Austin's sending off against Costa Rica in the last game means Jamaica will be without the services of the Brann midfielder.
