Bayern Munich play Eintracht Frankfurt for the second time in four days as the two teams meet in the third round of the 2009/10 DFB Pokal at the Commerzbank Arena on Wednesday night. Eintracht beat Alemannia Aachen 6-4 in a high scoring second round game. Early goals from Caio and Nikos Liberopoulos put Eintracht 2-0 ahead, but Babacar Gueye pulled one back for Alemannia midway through the first half. An own goal from Lukasz Szakula gave Frankfurt a 3-1 lead at half time, and two quickfire second half goals put Michael Skibbe’s men 5-1 up.

However Aachen were not going down without a fight, and scored three times to set up a tense finale. Selim Teber however scored from the spot in the 89^th minute to seal victory for Die Adler. Frankfurt were beaten 2-1 by Bayern in the Bundesliga on Saturday afternoon.

Bayern had more chances, but paid for their inability to break Frankfurt down when the visitors took the lead through Alexander Meier. Bayern equalised through substitute Arjen Robben and Louis Van Gaal’s late gamble of taking off Luca Toni and pushing Daniel Van Buyten forward paid off when the Belgian defender scored the winner in the 88^th minute.

Van Buyten also scored twice when Bayern crushed Rot-Weiss Oberhausen 5-0 in the second round of the German Cup. Defender Philipp Lahm and strikers Mario Gomez and Thomas Muller also scored for the Bavarian giants in that comfortable win.
