In their last qualifier, Uruguay ran out 3-1 winners at home against Colombia. Ajax Amsterdam skipper Luis Suarez’s early strike was cancelled out by Colombia’s Jackson Martinez, but Andres Scotti and Sebastien Eguren scored late in the game to give the Sky Blues three crucial points.

Ecuador are away at Chile in their final qualifier, while Uruguay will host Argentina. This is therefore a very important game for both teams, and the tickets to this clash were already sold out by mid September. The two teams played out a goalless draw in Montevideo in September 2008.
